BERLIN (Reuters) - A German couple have been given a quick divorce
on the grounds of "gross infidelity" after the wife moved in with
her new lover just four days after her wedding, a court said on
Thursday.
"Normally couples must be separated for a year
before a divorce can be granted," said presiding judge Christian
Kropp in the town of Sondershausen, eastern Germany. "But given the
extreme circumstances, we made an exception here."
The 19-year-old woman married the 25-year-old
army sergeant on Dec. 21. On Christmas Day she left him to live with
a man she had met five days before getting married. |
